Pages of Change: A Wildflyer Book Club

Pages of Change: A Wildflyer Book Club is a platform to explore impactful literature and contribute to the broader conversation about youth homelessness. Wildflyer Coffee aims to create a space through this initiative where community members can come together, learn, and actively participate in addressing this critical issue.

We choose a new book every quarter that focuses on poverty, housing instability, personal stories, and methods of solving homelessness. We meet on the last Tuesday of the month for two hours (7pm-9pm), with the first two meetings being virtual and the third in-person at the coffee shop, where we will gather to discuss the entire book while sipping coffee and eating pastries. We invite the author or another community expert to the last session to help shape our conversations.

We're proud to share that the first book we will be reading is "No House to Call My Home: Love, Family, and Other Transgressions'' by local author Ryan Berg. Ryan is a Minnesota Book Award-winning author and the Program Manager of the ConneQT Program of Avenues for Youth. We've partnered with Ryan over the years on several projects, and he brings a unique perspective to the challenges faced by LGBTQIA youth experiencing homelessness. He'll join us at the final, in-person meeting to share his experiences working with lGBTQUIA in New York and here in the Twin Cities and answer questions about his book.

Pages of Change is $75 to join, which covers the cost of the materials and includes a $25 tax-deductible donation to Wildflyer Coffee's Work and Life Skills training program. This quarter's meeting dates are 4/30, 5/28 and 6/25.

By signing up, you'll receive the following:

  • A Book Club Welcome Kit, including that quarter's book, a bag of Wildflyer Coffee, a welcome card from our CEO, and an "end youth homelessness" mug

  • Admission to the Pages of Change private group with prompts and discussion questions

  • Access to an incredible group of individuals working to change the world

  • Exclusive invites to member-only event

We believe in the power of storytelling to create awareness and inspire change. By delving into the narratives of those who have faced homelessness, we hope to encourage empathy and understanding within our community,
