This year Wildflyer has employed 44 young people through our Work & Life Skills Training Program. We’ve come a long way from our early days as a seasonal, part-time, coffee cart employing just a few youth each year, and your support has helped us get here! We know our program is working. So far in 2024, our program graduation rate is at 78% and 100% of youth leaving Wildflyer were actively engaged in employment, education, or working with their Employment Counselor to find their next job opportunity. In the coming year, we will be adding critically needed support for our graduates and your donation will sustain this work.

At Wildflyer, we know it is important to support young people in building the skills they need to not just find, but maintain stable employment as a pathway out of homelessness. In Wilder Research’s 2023 Homelessness Study, they found that 52% of people experiencing homelessness in Minnesota first became homeless before the age of 24. This alarming statistic demonstrates the critical need for programs like ours. Together, we have the power to change the path of young people’s lives and ensure that they do not fall into chronic homelessness.

Wildflyer needs to raise $50,000 by December 31 to sustain our critical programming and employ up to 50 more youth next year as they grow and build the confidence, skills, and stability they need to move from surviving to thriving.
